September 30🍁🧑

Image
Yesterday was one of my favorite days.  I had to work, so I didn’t have time for a post. Y’all know how I love my coffee ☕️ first thing in the morning!  Recently, my sleep is so broken and I’m so exhausted, I only manage sleep in 30-60 minute increments.  I am using my CPAP correctly.  Sleep just doesn’t happen easily.  My last few days off from work, my best sleep is around 6am. This morning, I woke one of many times, at around 6:10.  The red glow from the sunrise pouring into my window was beautiful, but I didn’t have the strength or will to get out of bed to witness it.  I’ve seen some pretty amazing pictures of the sunrise this morning.   Today is my daughter in law’s birthday.  I’m watching Bubby a while so she could get out and have her nails done.  She told Bubby to pick the color.  He said “red”.  She’s pulling up now so we shall see lol.  She did get red.   Please remember to pray for those who are sick and those who’ve lost loved ones and pray for your family and neighbors!

Cloudy, rainy and slightly cool! 🌧

Image
It’s a cloudy 57° on my porch at 8:45 am. The air is crisp, you could “feel” the rain. I’ve been out here watching my hummingbirds about an hour. Now, the rain has started.  Rainy fall days bring back wonderful memories!  That was a quick rain shower!  I’ve worked overtime 3 weeks of this month.  Covid will end my career. I don’t believe I have the stamina to keep up this pace! Never, ever in my 43 year career has it been this difficult. Never - even in three different states! Please pray for an end to this dreadful thing!  Please remember to pray for those who are in need! Please pray for our community, county, state and country!  Next Sunday, October 3, will be Homecoming at Miller Hill. Service starts at 11. Brother Keith Lindsey will preach, following service, we will have dinner. Message me on Facebook if you need directions!  Have a wonderful weekend! Have a blessed day! I 🧑 all y’all!

It’s here! It’s fall, y’all! πŸπŸ‚πŸ§‘

It’s 52° on my porch currently. There’s a chill in the air! It is offset, though, by the warmth of the sun! The sky is so blue! The sun is bright!  Birds are singing. I still hear a few cicada. Fall is my favorite season. It officially arrived yesterday afternoon around 3:21pm.  The days are shortening more quickly now. This will continue until the winter solstice, which will begin December 21 @ 10:59 am.  That will mark the transition of the suns journey back to lengthen our days until summer begins next when the shortening begins again.  All that to say I LOVE FALL MOST OF ALL!  So. This morning I didn’t wake until about 6:30. That’s a bit late for me. I had an allergic reaction to a new brand of PPE (our isolation garb to protect us from infectious agents, such as Covid) on Tuesday. The dr gave me steroid cream and an antihistamine, which causes drowsiness. I’m much better. There are no signs now of the rash, except my left wrist.  The itch is gone.  I’m ready for TNF! 🏈 The Panthe

🌧 Rainy day

Image
It’s a fairly muggy 70° on the porch this morning. We’ve been having a thunderstorm for a couple hours now, it’s finally moved on. There still is a little drizzle falling but the thunder has passed. Unsure how much actual rain there was with it, but we have puddles.  My hummingbird population has dwindled to 2-3. I still have both feeders out though. I will keep one out until at least mid to late November.   Ha. Walnuts are falling! If you come to my house, watch your noggin!  I love how the sunlight from last nights setting sun lit up the trees and showed the beginning of the fall colors. I 🧑 fall most of all! Well, except for the sinus infections that are almost inevitable this time of year! Hopefully I’ll get by without one!  I missed parade day yesterday. The boy was still asleep so I didn’t try to go. Parade day has been a tradition all my life.  I’ve rarely missed. I try to schedule myself off if I can figure out when early enough. We were part of the parade during Nicks footbal

🧑On this day

It’s a nice 66° on the porch this morning. Nothing is cool about the breeze. It’s obviously getting closer to autumn! The chlorophyll is leaving the tree leaves all over.  Green is being replaced by yellow and red. Ragweed is abundant. Golden rods are abundant. The angle of the sun is a little lower and a bit more southeast by two fist widths at arms length or so. It’ll drift that way a little more before it heads back east. All y’all fans of summer, be of good cheer. It’s not done yet!  Today, in about 3 hours from this writing, marks the 2 year anniversary of my daddy moving on from this life. I was their first.  I was his parents first grandchild. I was the only girl. I remember when I bought my first vehicle without him. He wasn’t happy at all. I bought a 1982 Dodge Challenger. It was a five speed 2 door two tone (gray and red) little marvel. It’s end is another story I won’t get into now. I did love that car though. He warmed up to it after he drove it a few times.  I saw him cry

Another beautiful morning

It’s 64° on the porch this morning. The air is nice, there’s no “fall like chill” today though.  There’s smoke from a distant fire in the air….. stop, wait! Isn’t that the name of an old song I used to love? Haha. Anyway. There’s also light fog. The sun is up and shining directly in my eyes.  The hummingbirds are humming around. Remember! Leave your feeders full and clean several more weeks! You will not prevent the little darlings from leaving by keeping their food fresh! Their tiny systems will move them on when it’s time!!  I worked this weekend. This is surely a sad time in healthcare.  I’ve seen death scores of times in my work. I have not seen it to this extent however. Please keep those families in your prayers!  Also, please keep Joe and Patty and their family and friends in your prayers.  Ann lost her battle on Saturday.  Her family will need our prayers as they begin to learn to live without her. Our church and community lost a great friend!  I understand we got a new family

Beautiful September morning!

Good Thursday morning from the porch! The sun isn’t quite up yet, but it’s close.  It’s a cool, crisp 55° this morning.  The hummingbirds are very active.  There’s a young male trying to assert his dominance.  His gorget is barely red. There are at least 3 other hummingbirds trying to tell him to get lost.  Love my babies! They’ll be leaving in a few weeks.  I don’t take my feeders down until November for stragglers.  Don’t worry! Keeping feeders up doesn’t keep the birds here! Their little internal clocks tell them when it’s time to go south.  Keeping feeders out ensures they have food for the journey!  Please continue to pray for the sick! Please pray for the grieving! Little Charley (I’ve asked prayer for her a few times) lost her cancer battle earlier this week. Her parents are devistated. She was barely a year old! There are so many others!  Pray for our nation, pray. Pray.   Treat each other well!  I love all y’all! πŸ§‘πŸπŸ‚ Have a blessed day!

Another beautiful day!🧑🍁

The sun is almost over the trees. It’s bright! I love crisp, cool mornings. There are very few high, thin clouds; and, the sky is so blue! Hopefully it’ll be another low humidity day! I moved spots because of the direct sun.  I’m still in it. Oh, well!  It’s such a beautiful morning! The birds are singing. I see cardinals.  I hear doves.  I briefly heard an owl when I first came outside.  I just heard a neighbors cow.  I hear our chickens, ducks and turkey. I hear turkey in the distance as well.  I hear crows too.   Ragweed is rampant. Despite my singular, my eyes are glued together!  I made vegetable soup yesterday. I had a bowl of it for supper last night.  It was so good! Hopefully it’ll be as good today! I pretty much put the kitchen sink in it.  Seriously, it has pintos, green beans, corn, peas, taters, onion, maters, beef stock, hamburger meat…. Cabbage…. Carrots…. And Bubby was the only one who helped me eat it.  SMH.  Maybe they’ll have some today.   Please remember to pray for

Beautiful morning!

It’s September 3! Fall is almost here! It’s 59° on the porch.  The sunrise looks amazing! I hope you’re watching!  My photo does no justice to the beauty!  Birds are singing. There is a lot of road noise this morning too.  It’s crisp on the porch. Perfect for this hot cup of coffee! Feels like fall!🧑 It’s been a trying week.  Oh, retirement, you’re just out of sight but closer!!  Please remember the sick in your prayers! In my 43+ years of doing this, I’ve never seen it this bad. Please remember their families in your prayers as well! Remember neighbors and friends who’ve lost loved ones.  Thanks to my daughter and grandson who worked on my snowball bush ridding it of the poison oak yesterday or the day before! It looks amazing!  I love all y’all!🧑 Have a blessed day!
