It’s here! It’s fall, y’all! 🍁🍂🧡

It’s 52° on my porch currently. There’s a chill in the air! It is offset, though, by the warmth of the sun! The sky is so blue! The sun is bright!

Birds are singing. I still hear a few cicada. Fall is my favorite season. It officially arrived yesterday afternoon around 3:21pm.  The days are shortening more quickly now. This will continue until the winter solstice, which will begin December 21 @ 10:59 am.  That will mark the transition of the suns journey back to lengthen our days until summer begins next when the shortening begins again.  All that to say I LOVE FALL MOST OF ALL!

So. This morning I didn’t wake until about 6:30. That’s a bit late for me. I had an allergic reaction to a new brand of PPE (our isolation garb to protect us from infectious agents, such as Covid) on Tuesday. The dr gave me steroid cream and an antihistamine, which causes drowsiness. I’m much better. There are no signs now of the rash, except my left wrist.  The itch is gone. 
I’m ready for TNF! 🏈
The Panthers are at the Texans.  While I’ll have no dog in this fight, I will be a panther fan tonight. Texans are a division rival of my #2 team, the Titans (in case you didn’t know… first over everyone Cowboys, Titans then Patriots, sorry Pat! After that, I just pick who on a game by game basis. I’ll never, ever yell for Eagles or Giants or Texans……) 
I still have hummingbirds! I expect to see them for 2-3 more weeks.  My feeder will stay up until November.  
Please, please remember to pray for those who are sick! Some from our home county are begging for prayers! Please remember little Charleys family. I know they miss that sweet baby! Pray for those who’ve recently lost loved ones! They are trying to get by this new road in life. It’s not an easy one to travel! 
This new dog, y’all! He’s a mess. He’s trying his best to make me play. I don’t want to. I just want more coffee!

Today was the best day since 5/31/25. That Saturday morning, I was at work, my cell rang. I looked at it, it was Ma. She asked if I was home. I could tell by her response that I was at work that something was wrong. I asked her, she said suddenly she didn’t feel right. Her right arm and leg hurt and were “heavy” and she couldn’t pour herself a cup of coffee. I asked her if she was alone. She was. I told her to sit and I’d call her right back. I called my brother and he was working. I told him I’d call him right back. Get where he could talk to me. I called her, she said nothing had changed. I told her to hang up and call 911, which she did. I updated my brothers. The rest of the story is: she had a stroke, it was small, and only time would tell what her level of recovery would be. She was discharged 6/2 with home health.  Fast forward to today. Everything is pretty much back to normal. Dr Igbokwe was very, very pleased with her progress. I’m back

It’s June 26, 2025 It’s been a while since I posted. I had a difficult time posting after blogger changed a format. It’s a very, very muggy 87° on the porch this afternoon. We’ve had a little thundershower go through, making it super muggy now. I’m going to try to get back to posting here at least once a week. Cloudy, rainy and slightly cool! 🌧

It’s a cloudy 57° on my porch at 8:45 am. The air is crisp, you could “feel” the rain. I’ve been out here watching my hummingbirds about an hour. Now, the rain has started.  Rainy fall days bring back wonderful memories!  That was a quick rain shower!  I’ve worked overtime 3 weeks of this month.  Covid will end my career. I don’t believe I have the stamina to keep up this pace! Never, ever in my 43 year career has it been this difficult. Never - even in three different states! Please pray for an end to this dreadful thing!  Please remember to pray for those who are in need! Please pray for our community, county, state and country!  Next Sunday, October 3, will be Homecoming at Miller Hill. Service starts at 11.
