Beautiful early August Saturday

It is august 2nd. It’s a beautiful 66° on the porch this morning. There’s a gentle breeze with a hint of cooler weather! I can actually breathe out here! It’s mostly sunny. I hear the young rooster in the coup. He’s trying his best to crow. It’s so cute. I had initially planned on being out here before sunup but 1am hives and Benadryl had other plans for me. I still made it out here though. This is my time. Slightly crisp mornings, my front porch, silence except the critters and a little road noise and my coffee….its heaven to me! I’m not a cold fan, but I’m certainly not a fan of sweltering heat and humidity! This old girl can’t breathe in that! 
I do want to brag that all our ducks are in a row this morning! How precious! Haha! 
Enjoy this beautiful weather!
Pray for the multiple people who’ve lost loved ones in these past few days. The voids in the lives of many will be realized as they learn their new normal. 
Pray for Edmonson County! The recent turmoil is devastating! Pray for justice! Pray for the children! It’s something that will forever haunt them. 
Pray for our communities, churches, pastors and deacons and their families!

Today was the best day since 5/31/25. That Saturday morning, I was at work, my cell rang. I looked at it, it was Ma. She asked if I was home. I could tell by her response that I was at work that something was wrong. I asked her, she said suddenly she didn’t feel right. Her right arm and leg hurt and were “heavy” and she couldn’t pour herself a cup of coffee. I asked her if she was alone. She was. I told her to sit and I’d call her right back. I called my brother and he was working. I told him I’d call him right back. Get where he could talk to me. I called her, she said nothing had changed. I told her to hang up and call 911, which she did. I updated my brothers. The rest of the story is: she had a stroke, it was small, and only time would tell what her level of recovery would be. She was discharged 6/2 with home health.  Fast forward to today. Everything is pretty much back to normal. Dr Igbokwe was very, very pleased with her progress. I’m back

It’s June 26, 2025 It’s been a while since I posted. I had a difficult time posting after blogger changed a format. It’s a very, very muggy 87° on the porch this afternoon. We’ve had a little thundershower go through, making it super muggy now. I’m going to try to get back to posting here at least once a week. Cloudy, rainy and slightly cool! 🌧

It’s a cloudy 57° on my porch at 8:45 am. The air is crisp, you could “feel” the rain. I’ve been out here watching my hummingbirds about an hour. Now, the rain has started.  Rainy fall days bring back wonderful memories!  That was a quick rain shower!  I’ve worked overtime 3 weeks of this month.  Covid will end my career. I don’t believe I have the stamina to keep up this pace! Never, ever in my 43 year career has it been this difficult. Never - even in three different states! Please pray for an end to this dreadful thing!  Please remember to pray for those who are in need! Please pray for our community, county, state and country!  Next Sunday, October 3, will be Homecoming at Miller Hill. Service starts at 11.
