Waning summer

There are plenty of hot days left. There are 19 days left in August. There are forty two days until the Autumnal Equinox arrives (September 22 at 1:19 pm.)! Autumn is my favorite time of year!
I came out to the porch this morning, I want coffee so badly! I am having fasting labs in a bit. I was hoping to get to see some of the Perseid Meteor Shower, it peaks August 12-13. The sky is too bright. I was able to get a good viewing of Venus and Jupiter so close together in the morning sky! I hope you didn’t miss it. 
It’s 73° on the porch this morning. The night critters are still making their noises, birds are singing and I hear roosters having an early morning crowing contest. There’s a gentle breeze and a very slight crispness in that breeze, much better than the air you wear!
When you pray, please remember the sick and their families, those who’ve lost loved ones and are learning their new normal, remember our communities, counties, state and country, that our leaders do the next right thing for the people and not self interest!

Today was the best day since 5/31/25. That Saturday morning, I was at work, my cell rang. I looked at it, it was Ma. She asked if I was home. I could tell by her response that I was at work that something was wrong. I asked her, she said suddenly she didn’t feel right. Her right arm and leg hurt and were “heavy” and she couldn’t pour herself a cup of coffee. I asked her if she was alone. She was. I told her to sit and I’d call her right back. I called my brother and he was working. I told him I’d call him right back. Get where he could talk to me. I called her, she said nothing had changed. I told her to hang up and call 911, which she did. I updated my brothers. The rest of the story is: she had a stroke, it was small, and only time would tell what her level of recovery would be. I’m back

It’s June 26, 2025 It’s been a while since I posted. I had a difficult time posting after blogger changed a format. It’s a very, very muggy 87° on the porch this afternoon. We’ve had a little thundershower go through, making it super muggy now. I’m going to try to get back to posting here at least once a week. Cloudy, rainy and slightly cool! šŸŒ§

It’s a cloudy 57° on my porch at 8:45 am. The air is crisp, you could “feel” the rain. I’ve been out here watching my hummingbirds about an hour. Now, the rain has started.  Rainy fall days bring back wonderful memories!  That was a quick rain shower!  I’ve worked overtime 3 weeks of this month.  Covid will end my career. I don’t believe I have the stamina to keep up this pace! Never, ever in my 43 year career has it been this difficult. Never - even in three different states! Please pray for an end to this dreadful thing!  Please remember to pray for those who are in need! Please pray for our community, county, state and country!  Next Sunday, October 3, will be Homecoming at Miller Hill. Service starts at 11.
